Hey Y'all! Just wanting to show what I am doing a bit in school right now.

This is a solar plate print for my printmaking class. [link]
Our teacher said we should try to use a photograph or some other digital image for our first try at solar plate, so I picked my Vivi image [link] since I knew it would have a good range of deep blacks and clear whites.

I also have two zinc litho prints I am working on, but they won't be done for another week or two, so you'll just have to wait!

Anyway, this is 5x7, on BFK Reeves and inked with intaglio ink.

PS. Sorry for the little bit of crookedness and blurriness in areas. The paper is slightly larger than my scanner @___@

Very nice! As a printmaker I can say you've done really well with my favorite medium. I'd love to see your Lithos. It was always my the hardest medium for me.

That is rockin'! Printmaking is so much fun! Congrats on a great print. Do you have any pictures of the plate itself? I always find that I am more partial to my plates, I feel like they are the part of the project that I put so much work into and then the print is just a simplified version for others. (but that might just me being weird.... ) :D

Not yet I don't O: I still have to run an edition so its still at school.

Although, I'm not sure how well it'll photograph. @__@ Solar plates are this strange bright orange color and are hard to see unless you are looking at them from an angle

Yeah it was pretty neat.

Much, MUCH easier than making a zinc plate print XD

Your past years in art school are making me worried for what's ahead when I go to art school. LOL
