Okay okay, so this is the "steampunk" creation I was speaking of in my journal. I'm still not sure how I feel about it. BUT its due tomorrow, so for what it is, I am happy with it X3 The project was to make something that could be attached to your arm, hand or wrist with found objects.
The gears were placed onto the leather by hand stitching and/or a very strong adhesive.
I really want to sell it to someone but I think it needs a tad more work before I can feel comfortable with that.
ANYWAY, I must thank for providing me with a clock which provided half of the gears on this.
Otherwise, I made this mostly with stuff I found at the thrift store. Namely, the brooch in the middle, a leather purse that I deconstructed, some chain jewelry, and a gold, adjustable cuff that was used as a skeleton of sorts for the cuff. Then I went to my local craft store and found some awesome wings and key beads and a black velvet ribbon I used to line the back. Then the "diamonds" (I don't know what else to call that?) is from a bridal bouquet that I caught at my boyfriend's cousin's wedding a few weeks ago XD
If someone might actually be interested purchasing this, let me know and i will show you the finished product (Its probably not going to change much, but I will just make some areas look cleaner, namely the back) and see if you are interested still. Thanks!!
I think it looks good enough for your assignment <3 Very creative! I hope you can find a buyer!! I can't wear that sort of stuff with a lil one, he'll just want to eat it XD HAHA
Those thrift store finds are GORGEOUS!!! *0* I've been wanting to hit up the antique stores for pretty pieces like that. I love this design, you should be proud--- it came out awesome!
For your first attempt at Steampunk, this is incredibly lovely~ Depending on how much you decide to sell this for, I might have to buy this from you. Can I reserve it?
I was thinking around $75. Someone else is interested as well O: So I cant really put it on reserve but I can let you know when i do actually put it up for sale
I like the whole steampunk aesthetic.
